The date for this year's Flower
Show has now been announced as 4th August 2012. All urged to
start growing bigger and better !
Hi Everyone,
A group of middle aged ladies, including myself, are "walking the walk" in Hyde Park in May
2012. It is a massive 26 miles, which for some
of us is huge challenge but one we are all very committed
to. All proceeds raised will go towards Breast Cancer so if you can find it in your hearts and wallets to sponsor us please click onto the link below and donate whatever you can.

2012: Latest: Unfortunately still no news of missing Alethea Taylor from
Orleton. Missing since the
morning of 19th January 2012. Searches of Woofferton, lakes & streams,
etc.
have so far come up with nothing.
Search parties now being downgraded, but
Police are continuing their work.
They urge anyone who has seen Alethea, or
who knows where she is, to contact them as soon as possible
and anyone with ANY information should call police on 0300
333 3000 or 101.

Shobdon aerodrome is constantly working towards a

The Diamond Jubilee: Plans are in the early stages for a family Ceilidh and
Hog Roast on Saturday 2nd June 2012 followed by games, races, fancy dress, a
‘bring and share’ lunch on Sunday 3rd.after an early Church Service.
If you would like to take a hand in the organisation or have any more ideas for
the celebration we should be really pleased to hear from you.
We
hope to arrange a meeting for the end of January. In the mean time if anyone has
photographs of earlier Jubilee days (2002 & 1977) we would love to copy them to
display on the weekend.

Progressive Supper 2012: Saturday May 19th
- A date for your diary for 2012. Proceeds from the supper this year will be for
the Millennium Green (Registered charity number 1070085)
We shall be looking for hosts situated near the
centre of the village for Starters, Mains or Pudding courses and of course some
travellers who just enjoy being entertained with good food! We have already
started to take bookings so do get in touch to join in the fun!

2nd November 2011: Adam Harris has been appointed Community Support
Officer for our region - see under Local Administration/Policing for more
details.
Congratulations to all at the Millennium Green for winning Bronze in the RHS Pomona Awards. Fantastic ! See details under Millennium Green.
Oct. 2011: Work on our nearest railway station
(Leominster) has begun. The work will include new toilets and disabled access, a
waiting area and extra platform seats. The £1million improvement is part of the
national "Access for All Scheme" backed by the Department of Transport. (Source:

The Coronation Hall, Parish Council and
others are to bring in a Dog Control Order to stop dogs messing on the
children's play area; be more careful of your dogs or other areas may go the
same way !
